How about a video camera that they can wear on their
helmets to prove they were fired upon, also include some
pens and pencils because they now have to fill out forms
everytime they fire their weapons.
WHY so that the liberal media does not take the word of
an insurgent that calls and says there was a mass murder.
We have troops being charged with this right now
I pray (sincerely) that your cousin stays safe
I’d go with Ra men noodles, beef jerky, some type of chips( they might get smashed, but they won’t melt) if he can get to the AAFES they have portable dvd players so movies are good… I’d say jolly ranchers but they actually start to melt this time of year (hottest day on record was 142 degrees, probably hotter but thermometer didn’t go any higher).Books, mags CD’s of whatever is current remember the year there the whole world keeps moving but time stopped for him the minute he left CONUS. Pictures from home, girls, pets, buds, family… If he doesn’t already have it a PSP or an Ipod to help kill downtime, most of the guys I was with had a laptop so I could have ripped music from their computers which helps keep you sane, and everybody who had the PSP was playing multiplayer vs type games.
Don’t try to do all this yourself, it gets waay expensive so maybe you can split this up between family and friends, church groups…. the support base we get is huge so just ask around and always remember whatever he gets that he can’t use there is always another guy in the platoon who will always be glad to get something.
God Bless and Semper FI!
Paperback books thin enough to fit in a pocket; candy with a very high melting temperature (individually wrapped ONLY); letters from a class of kids and his former teachers at his old elementary, junior high, or high school; cigarettes/pipe tobacco and cleaners/cigars, if he smokes; photos and notes from friends and family, and of physical changes in his home town, or of his favorite fishing hole.
Waterproof bandaids and Neosporin, a tiny bottle of his favorite aftershave (sealed in a baggie against leakage and nested in a small box of styrofoam peanuts or individually wrapped candies against breakage); a pad of stationary, some self-seal envelopes, and stamps; a throw-away camera; a bag of doggie treats for his unit mascot; if he has a way to play them, music or movies and a recording from family and friends; a pair of the wildest pajamas you can find; a tiny stuffed animal, pocket size; unscented baby powder and foot powder; small one-piece puzzles and puzzle books; a pocket dictionary, Bible, hymnal; items from the local newspaper that might interest or amuse him; a small sewing kit with needles, threads to match the colors of his uniforms, and scissors; a very small calculator; a really luxurious pair of slippers and very light, handwashable, but opaque bathrobe.
Read his letters and talk to his folks, looking for clues, things he used to enjoy using or doing, things he’s said he misses.
i was there twice, and what i enjoyed the most we’re just letters from school’s or church’s…as far as needs, there’s always the usual depending on your sex (m/f)razor’s.shaving cream, sunflower seed’s, beef jerky, wipe’s,(alcohol)lolol just kidding…….bless you…for your support ssg l
Gum lots of gum
I am a Marine wife. My husband was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. I am a flight attendant and I get my passengers to write letters to our troops during flights. I supply all the paper, pens, and postage. My husband and hundreds of other military service members ( thanks to http://www.anysoldier.com) receive these beautiful letters supporting their commitment and service to our Country. The service members can put these letters in their pockets and take them on missions. When they get lonely or scared they open the letters and read them for support. ( It is really hard for the troops to print emails if they don’t have a computer or a printer. ) The troops appreciate anything they get from our fellow Americans. They need to know we care about them. Thank you for offering to send a package.
God forbid, but if I were there -I would vote for baby wipes!!!!
They must just get crap all over thier faces all day and all night.
Maybe you forget about it after a while and it is not a high priority. Just thinking about it, makes me cry.
Anyone that is there….I thank you with all my heart and all my tears. If I could That is what I would send. AND somehow I would figure out a way to make them stay cool all day!!!
Ya sure we cant send alchohol??? I would want that too!!
Hang tough!

Make sure you include some good cigars, cutters and cigar

A picture of George W. Bush and the CEO of Ratheon and The Saudi Royal Family members hugging eachother and laughing after 9-11 together.
A Noam Chomsky book (and a dictionary because they will need it).
A copy of the History of the Algerian War.
The Idiots Guide to the Koran

A 1 way ticket to the Hague (do not pass go, do not collect 100 dollars).
Morals…

the green, green grass of home, if thats not possible anything
and everything they ask
The food is pretty bland, I read that the soldiers will kill for Tabasco sauce or other seasonings.
don’t listen to the detractors… soldiers appreciate anythin u send them….include things like powdered gatorade, phone cards, letters from home pictures, gift certificates to the px….u can buy some of this stuff at aafes.com whether you are in the military or not….remember it’s not what you send but the fact that you were thinking of them at all and showing your love and support for them
bullet-proof vest, no diet pop because that is what caused the soldiers to get sick in Desert Storm – the heat causes the pop to change, newspapers, his/her favorite magazine, wife’s underwear, bullet-proof vest.
Beef jerky, alcohol, porn, cigarettes, chew, instant coffee.
Most places won’t allow alcohol or porn? They do in the military and nobody can stop that! SISSIES!
Most places won’t allow porn, alcohol or weapons. Go with magazines and movies.
Put photos of his family in the care gift basket. It’s what every soldier wants to see when he or she is away from their family.
Family and friends wishing him or her well.
porn, alcohol, pocket pussy, etc…
here is the only thing a cyonide pill or a piece of carbon to commit suicide better to die like that than to be killed by a sniper
My brother always begged us to send him cases and cases of baby wipes. They don’t get a chance to shower very often and when they do its usually a cold shower…so he used baby wipes to clean himself up. They actually work very well and have come in handy for a lot of the soldiers to stay clean!
Cookies, reading material (non-pornographic), jerky, photos of family and friends, video games, and don’t forget the “silly string” as it might just save their life.
